BIO
One thing I learned long ago is that you never stop learning. When I first started writing in college, I imagined my career being linear, going in a straight line from point A to point B. Now, I know A and B are a split, a proverbial fork in the road that determines the direction we go. After college, I got a job working for a newspaper publication but not as a writer. My niche was advertising where I could do more good generating revenue out in the field than I ever could behind a desk. Yet it was from my desk where I created compelling ads, wrote proposals and press releases, and conceptualized and implemented promotional ideas for my clients.
Eventually, I made the full leap to marketing, taking on entire campaigns from start to finish. This allowed me to grow not only my copywriting skills, but it also gave me valuable experience in project management, content creation, customer engagement, and brand development. More importantly, it taught me how to operate within a team, and I never knew how reliant I was on my team until I became an editorial director. When your team includes everything from design, CS and IT to freelance writers, contributors, and third-party vendors, you see how crucial it is to be on the same page.
Your message starts long before you send out that first email or sales letter, and it does not end on a landing page when they click Submit Payment. Connecting with your audience is a task you never complete and when you see the bigger picture, you realize every word matters. Like you, your audience is on a journey, and we all inevitably face a fork in the road. As a writer and strategist, it is my job to help you explain to them which direction to turn and why.
